1887 OFFICIAL QUEEN VICTORIA GOLDEN JUBILEE MEDAL IN SILVER Only 1,012 Issued
The Obverse features the Jubilee effigy of Queen Victoria designed by Sir Joseph Edgar Boehm, with the medal being struck by the Royal Mint in gold (133), silver (1,012) and bronze (600). The medal in silver was issued to members of the royal family, foreign dignitaries along with senior members of the government and military involved in the celebrations, as well as the great and good of the nation and Empire. Only 1,012 of these medals were issued in silver. Unnamed as issued, the medal is in good VF condition with the odd light contact. The ribbon back had some card glued to stiffen it which has been taken off.
These medals are getting rather difficult to find now, and with such a low issue they don't appear very often in any of the issues.
